Training Date: Monday 31 December, 2012 9:00am
As may or may not be aware that a NSW Health requirement, mandates that all Public hospitals ensure nursing staff attend mandatory training called Between the Flags which teaches nurses to be able to accurately identify and escalate issues regarding clinical changes in patient care. This is a new policy effective immediately. Public hospitals are also responsible to ensure that all agency nursing staff that work in their facilities have also undergone this training.
I know that some of you have already commenced the process of training or have completed it. If you have please send us a copy of your certificate so we can update our data base.
For those nurses who have not heard about this or have not started the training we need to advise that this is now mandatory for you to complete.
In the future hospitals will only book nursing staff that have completed the video and course.
It is a simple process that you can do on your own computer at home. If you do not have internet access please call us to arrange a time so you can see the 12 minute video in our office or use our computer.
First you can search via google for :NSW Health Online Learning Centre and log in there
or need to log in to http://www.nswhealth.moodle.com.au/login/index.php.
This will take you to the Between the Flags log in page. Then click on the online learning centre and Register your profile.
Create your own user name and password
This will then take you to a section to insert your portfolio.
You then can jump to the between the flags and start the online courses.
